Update From The Board

Updated: Aug 8, 2025

The 2024–2025 Board was elected at our recent AGM, bringing together a committed team focused on our club's future. The members are:

  1. President: Toni Tapp Coutts

  2. Vice President: Kevin South

  3. Treasurer: Mal Trattles

  4. Public Officer: Malcolm Roney

  5. Directors: Frank Dalton, Brian De Marco, Ken Orwell

  6. CEO: Doug Meagher

Since taking office, the new board has actively reviewed current projects, identified priorities, and implemented strategies to enhance the member experience, ensure compliance, and secure a sustainable future for our club.

Key Updates and Projects

Technology and Compliance: A major project underway is the installation of our new SWIFTPOS system, enhancing our tills and entry management. This will streamline member interactions and improve reporting and compliance. Additionally, we’re upgrading our accounting system to Xero, managed by a reputable Darwin accounting firm, ensuring transparency and accuracy in our financial operations.

Bowling Green Upgrade: In April/May 2025, after the wet season, we’ll begin work on the Bowling Green, including a new playing surface, shaded seating, and landscaping. These upgrades reflect our commitment to maintaining high-quality facilities for our members.

Kitchen and Gaming Area Improvements: Compliance upgrades in the gaming area and kitchen are on the agenda, including a new menu to enhance the dining experience. The previous plan for a large kitchen extension, which had been on the table for nearly five years, has been carefully reconsidered. Rising costs and a shift in our club’s operational needs have led us to invest instead in targeted kitchen and clubhouse improvements that will meet current and future demands effectively.

Future Planning and Member Engagement

We are developing a comprehensive Five-Year Masterplan to guide our future projects and ensure our resources are aligned with our club’s needs and goals. A dedicated subcommittee, led by Mal Trattles, Brian De Marco, and Frank Dalton, will be prioritising projects and overseeing long-term planning. Member feedback is invaluable to us, and we encourage you to connect with board members to share your ideas and insights.

Clubhouse and Marquee Enhancements

The marquee and clubhouse will undergo a series of upgrades, including new audio/visual installations to enhance event experiences. Large screens will be installed for major sporting events, bringing a new level of excitement and engagement for members and guests.

Security and Course Protection

To address security issues, we’re evaluating improvements to exterior fencing, lighting, and surveillance around the clubhouse. Additionally, we’ve successfully completed the extension of the wallaby-proof fence around the golf course, which will help protect our grounds from damage and reduce maintenance efforts for our staff.

A Look Ahead

With the festive season approaching, we want to remind you to book early for holiday functions, as our calendar is filling up quickly. Looking to 2025, our board is dedicated to uplifting and modernising our facilities while building a foundation for long-term growth and success.

Thank you for your support and commitment to our club. Together, we’re creating a vibrant future for our community.

With best wishes for the coming festive season.

President Toni Tapp Coutts and the Board of Directors.
