THE KATHERINE GOLF CLUB

The Katherine Country Club is home to the Katherine Golf Course, a well-maintained par 72 layout that offers far more variety and challenge than you might expect. While the course features nine holes, each hole has two distinct tee blocks, many of which play from different lengths and angles. This design means a round of 18 feels genuinely varied, much like playing a full 18-hole course.
The course rewards accuracy over power. Tree-lined fairways, tight hitting zones, and a mix of long par 3s, par 4s and par 5s keep golfers engaged and challenged throughout the round. Although the course is relatively short in overall length, precision is key, making it enjoyable for both experienced players and those still developing their game.
Standout holes include the Graham Marsh–designed par 3s, where water comes into play alongside well-placed greenside bunkers, demanding confident shot selection and control. Recent upgrades have further enhanced the course, with newly designed holes and upgraded greens adding to the overall playing experience, and ongoing improvements continuing to shape the layout.
For visitors travelling north, it’s often a welcome surprise to arrive in Katherine and find lush green fairways after long stretches of outback driving. Whether you’re a local regular or passing through the region, the course is well worth a round.
