Earlier this year, we welcomed Tommy and Ella as our new Kitchen Managers here at the Katherine Country Club.
After moving to Katherine just after Christmas, Tommy and Ella took over the lease of the bistro in April and it’s been full steam ahead ever since!
With over 25 years of experience between them, they bring a wealth of industry knowledge, a love of honest food, and a commitment to consistency and quality.
Their hospitality journey has taken them from the family-run Humpty Doo Golf Club to successful ventures across Darwin, including The Big Lick Café, Livingston Reserve, and the Big4 Caravan Park. Tommy has also represented the NT at national cooking competitions, winning multiple medals, and led the catering for high-profile events like the CareFlight Gala Ball.
As those ventures wrapped up, the opportunity in Katherine came up and the timing just felt right. After visiting the club a few times and seeing the potential, they knew it was a great fit and felt they could bring something special to the venue.
At the Katherine Country Club, they’ve launched a new menu with everything from club classics to modern specials, all made from scratch. It’s a combination of crowd-pleasers, nostalgic favourites, and dishes they personally love to cook and eat. They also cater for all types of events - from golf days and private dinners to weddings, birthdays, and corporate functions.
Whether you’re here for a family dinner, a night out with friends, or a catered event, the focus is always the same: quality, consistency, and value.
