KATHERINE LAWN BOWLS
The Katherine Lawn Bowls Club was established in 1986 and operates as part of the Katherine Country Club. It is renowned for its high quality synthetic outdoor green and the variety of activities offered.
The friendliness of its people makes it a must visit Bowls Club for visitors travelling through the NT. Enjoy a meal and a cold drink after a round of bowls in the cool of the evening.
Our Club has a full-sized eight rink, Pro-Sport Drymax synthetic green. The synthetic green is lightly sanded below the pile and the features are smooth, fast and scratch free surface.
The Katherine Lawn Bowls Club operates as part of the Katherine Country Club and has been a valued part of the local community since its establishment in 1986. Long known as a welcoming gathering place, the bowls green continues to bring people together for relaxed competition, social connection and time outdoors.
In recent years, significant care and effort have gone into restoring and revitalising the green, and it’s been great to see the area come back to life. What began as a restoration project has grown into a renewed space for members, locals and visitors to enjoy the game and reconnect with the club.
Lawn bowls at Katherine is about more than just the roll of the bowl. It’s a place where friendships are formed, conversations flow easily, and people of all ages and experience levels feel comfortable having a go. Whether you’re a long-time bowler or completely new to the game, the atmosphere is relaxed, inclusive and supportive.
Social bowls sessions run throughout the year, with availability varying during the wet season and January period depending on weather and volunteer support. Members and visitors interested in playing are encouraged to contact the club to check availability.
As part of the Katherine Country Club, lawn bowls sits alongside golf, the bistro and bar as another way to enjoy the club’s facilities and spend time with the local community — unhurried, welcoming and unmistakably Katherine.
