Dear Valued Members,
As you may have noticed, prices for drinks at the Katherine Country Club have recently increased. This increase is driven by several factors:
i) The introduction of the Container Deposit Scheme in the Northern Territory. From January 3rd onwards, most drink containers (cans, bottles, plastic bottles, with the exception of wine bottles) can now be returned to an approved Container Depot for a $0.10 refund. This $0.10 plus the additional costs of running the Scheme have added to our costs for the wholesale purchasing of beverages.
ii) The Consumer Price Index or CPI. Most of our suppliers factor in the rising costs of producing their goods and raise their prices one to two times a year in a ‘CPI increase’. This is generally a small increase of 1-2% a year. Our prices have not changed recently to reflect those small changes so we are finally bringing them in line with our costs.
These changes will allow the Club to remain competitive and to continue to offer the best service, facilities and atmosphere to you, our valued members. In the spirit of this, we have created a member’s price on drinks which you can access by presenting your membership card with each purchase. |
|
Q: Why should I carry my membership card with me?
A: (any or all of these are acceptable)
i) It is needed to collect winnings if you use the pokie machines.
ii) Swiping your card with every purchase guarantees you new members’ prices being introduced in January.
iii) You continue to earn points on every purchase
iv) It makes you eligible for random prize draws and member’s badge draws
